By 2030, if we don’t radically reduce emissions, we will use up the remaining carbon budget. To keep global temperature rise under 1.5° C, we must electrify as much as possible, convert to renewables as quickly as possible, AND capture billions of metric tons of CO₂ from industrial sources annually.
Climate change projections show we need to capture 800 gigatons of CO₂. This requires hundreds of billions of dollars in investments every year – a new industry in the making.
